In addition to fire suppression, one of the main goals for the Waxahachie Fire Department is fire prevention. Fire prevention in Waxahachie includes visiting the schools with Freddy or our new Clowns. It also includes inspection of local businesses to make sure that fire codes are being followed. The fire prevention programs for the city are handled by the Fire Marshal's office.
E.D.I.T.H. stands for Exit Drills In The Home. This is a way for the family to practice fire drills at home. Use this worksheet to draw a floor plan of your home. Make sure to mark two ways out of each room and locate a meeting place for everyone to gather at. Practice these drills regularly. |
